How Keri Russell and Her New Bangs Got Ready for the Star Wars Premiere
Last night, horny icon Keri Russell, her new bangs, Adam Driver, Chewbacca, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, and famous droids walked a blue carpet in Hollywood for the world premiere of the ninth Star Wars installment, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We don’t know much about Russell’s character, who seems to be perpetually hidden by a masked helmet, but we do know everything about the makeup look she wore out in the open for the event.
Makeup artist Tina Turnbow played off a few of the actor’s accessories to dream it up, including her new bangs (smart), polka-dot Celine mini dress, (the combo gave Turnbow “a Jane Birkin meets Jean Shrimpton vibe,”) and her ginormous blush-pink ring. “We were inspired by the ring and went with that pink feel in her lips and nails, and toughened it up with a strong black eye with a ’60s twist,” Turnbow says.
Russell started with a visit to facialist and skin magician Joanna Vargas to get the glow going, and Turnbow amped it up with a touch of Ogee Jojoba Glow Face Oil topped with Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Cream Foundation and Mineral Fusion concealer here and there. Turnbow and Russell both love a strong brow and the former created the latter’s by mixing Laura Mercier brow pencil in Soft Brunette and Rich Brunette.
Next came Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in Perversion along the lash line and inner rim (waterlines love it) which was smudged out using Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse Stylo Eyeshadow Stick in Onyx which was also blended into the crease. To create the mod effect, Turnbow brushed a light, shimmery shade onto the lids and brow bone, and finished the eyes with generous coats of trusty L’Oréal Voluminous mascara. To channel the pink ring, Turnbow combined Ogee Lip Tinted Lip Oil in Rosalia and Camelia on the lips and tapped the combo on the cheeks as well. We thank the ring for its service.
